INFO
"Father made me the daughter of White Finland, Colonel a Nazi. I'm not ashamed of either."
The play Everstinna, based on Rosa Liksom's novel of the same name (Like 2017), describes the life of its main character from a young girl all the way to old age. In the midst of an atmosphere of hatred and revenge, a longing for a simpler world and a strong leader arises. In the world of Everstinna, the situation escalates both in domestic life and politically. A woman who lived a colorful and phase-rich life opens up about her steps from the scars of her memory after a long silence. The most fanatical phase takes place in Finland and Lapland between the wars. First we admired Germany, then Nazism. At first, the atrocities that happened elsewhere were perceived as far away, but one quickly got used to the brutality and the indivisible human dignity was forgotten.
The shocking story moves at a frantic pace from patriotism to fascism and from a young girl's crush to a family hell colored by mental and physical violence. The journey to dangerous waters is fascinating and passionate, the journey back is long and painful.
The monologue is also a description of how quickly the hardening of values, disappointments, hate speech and uncertainty can lead to individual and community to radicalization. At the same time, it is a kind of speech against silence and a praise of love, sexuality, passion, nature and its beauty, and hope.

”The interpretation fluctuates between delicate and strong. The external implementation is visually colorful and the performance feels like it is literally falling on you in the small performance space." -Maarit Anttila, Satakunnan Kansa
"The show was really great. Great volume and soundscape for a small stage with the help of technology. Taina Silkkola's excellent professionalism and Liksom's text flowed perfectly. Enjoyable monologue." -Audience feedback
