The X Files of Finnish Film - The Quest for the Lost Female Role
A hilarious and quick history lesson about the tradition of women in Finnish film.
Fri 13 Jan 7:00pm | Tickets 34€
INFO
This new original play, which premiered in autumn of 2022, will superbly rewrite the history of Finnish film, meanwhile browsing through the many roles of women on the silver screen. Oh, how remote but at the same time familiar does the idea of Ansa Ikonen being payed less than her male co-stars feel, or what about Assi Nortia and all her exotic songbird-like roles. What if there was a secret archive where everything was different?
Can a woman with glasses get married? What's the fun about an angry woman with a rolling pin in her hand? Could a mother be sexy? The X Files of Finnish Film challenge you to think about the stereotypes of women and womanhood portrayed in classic films and how deeply these ideas still stick with us.
