God is in the grip of anxiety and disbelief; He needs therapy.

The life of a single mother working as a psychotherapist is hardly heavenly, either. Ella is a modern, university-educated woman who does not believe in God. God, for His part, finds it hard to believe in humanity.

The patient-therapist relationship is thus highly challenging; ultimately, it becomes unclear who is actually providing therapy to whom. The performance darts back and forth between the contemporary world and biblical events. The fundamental questions of life have remained the same for the past 6,000 years. Who is more unhinged: God or man? Is it even permissible to laugh at this?

The God portrayed by Martti Suosalo is a weary, depressed, middle-aged white man who is easily offended. The life of Ella, the psychotherapist played by Sanna-Kaisa Palo, is marked by disappointment and despair, yet one thing is certain: she does not believe in any god—except, perhaps, in secret, even from herself.

This play by Israeli playwright Anat Gov (*Oh My God*) delves into the subconscious of Western humanity. It is also an unabashed, outrageous comedy about the prejudices and hostile misunderstandings that arise between two individuals. Is the story ultimately about God, or about man?
