On September 6, 2024, Texicalli Records released the album *Göstan parhaat* ("Gösta’s Best"), featuring Leevi and the Leavings’ humorously poignant songs in stunning new arrangements performed by the Lumos String Quartet, Minja Koski, and Mikael Saari. The album pays tribute to Gösta Sundqvist’s life’s work and the musical legacy he left behind—a legacy that remains a powerful presence in Finnish popular music.
About the artists:
Minja Koski is a singer-songwriter and actress who releases her own music under the artist name M. With five albums released to date, she has garnered rave reviews—including "Best Domestic Album of the Year" accolades—as well as nominations for Emma and Teosto awards and performances at major Finnish festivals. Koski has contributed vocals to various projects and composed music for the theater.
Mikael Saari is a musician and actor who rose to public prominence through the *Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu* (UMK) competition, where he performed a song he wrote himself, "On It Goes." That track appears on Saari’s debut album, *The Grand Letdown*, released in the spring of 2016. Saari is active in both the music and theater worlds.
The Lumos Quartet is a string quartet formed by friends dedicated to showcasing the versatility of string instruments. The ensemble’s diverse repertoire consists of Niklas Hagmark’s skillful and distinctive arrangements. The members of Lumo have performed and recorded with renowned artists such as Saimaa, Ellips, Pepe Willberg, Pyhimys, and Laura Närhi. Lumo comprises Annukka Nevalainen-Lius, Sirkku Hilanko, Anette Grevberg, and Niklas Hagmark.
